On March 17th 2002, just after the six month anniversary, I went down to Ground Zero again. Here are the pictures I took during that trip. It was very interesting to get so close to the site. On my last trip I couldn't get closer than about a block or two in any direction. This time I was able to get as the other side of the street.
As you can tell, there's really nothing left of the World Trade Center. In the second picture you can kind of see the Towers of Light memorial that's been set up.
The surrounding buildings still haven't been completely repaired. The Burger King is particularly interesting to me.
They still have banners up near the site. And people are still adding to the comments.
These are some of my favorite shots. I took the first one from right at the sight, and the others from the top of the Empire State building.
I've had these e-mailed to me at some time or another.
